How to type emoji on Chromebook
ChromeOS emoji shortcut + on-screen
ChromeOS has an emoji picker built into the system shell. You can also use the right-click menu and the on-screen keyboard.
Step-by-step

Open the emoji picker
Launcher + Shift + SpacePress the Launcher key (the circle/search button) + Shift + Space. The emoji panel pops up at your cursor.

Right-click menu
In any text field, right-click (two-finger tap on trackpad) → Emojis. The same picker opens.

On-screen keyboard
Tap the system tray → tap the on-screen keyboard icon → tap the smiley to switch to the emoji keyboard.

Search in the picker
Just start typing — "fire", "heart". Tap to insert. Recent emoji appear at the top of the picker.

Launcher + Shift + Space does nothing
Update ChromeOS — the shortcut was added in ChromeOS 92 (mid-2021). Older devices may need the on-screen keyboard or right-click menu.
