How to type emoji on Windows 11
Win + . emoji panel (Win 11 / Win 10)
Windows 11 (and Windows 10 since build 1809) ship a built-in emoji panel triggered by `Win + .` (Windows key plus full stop). It supports emoji, kaomoji, symbols, recent items, and a search box.

Open the emoji panel
Win + .In any text field, press Windows key + period (`.`) or Windows key + semicolon (`;`). The emoji panel opens at your cursor.

Search by name
In the panel, just start typing — "fire", "heart", "thumbs". Tab through tabs at top: Emoji, GIFs, Kaomoji, Symbols.

Pinned categories
Windows 11 panel has tabs: 😀 Emoji, 🎴 GIFs (animated), 😊 Kaomoji (text faces), Ω Symbols (currency, math, geometric). Click each for the dedicated picker.

Voice typing
Press `Win + H` to start voice typing in any text field. Say "fire emoji" or "smiling face emoji" — Windows inserts the matching character.

Touch keyboard emoji
On tablets and 2-in-1s, open the touch keyboard → tap the smiley icon. The full emoji picker (with skin-tone variants) appears.

Check you have Windows 10 build 1809 or higher. Update via Settings → Windows Update. Some keyboards remap the period — try Win + ; (semicolon) instead.
